To the editor:

The American people have a lot to say right now about how we are feeling. We are losing trust — in our government, in the system, and in each other. Know who the true enemies of the people are: those in power who are mass-firing government workers, driving up your health insurance costs, wrecking our economy, raising prices and undermining our democracy.

Republican leadership encourages violence against Americans who dare to dissent. Our military has been shamefully misused by deploying troops against us in violation of federal laws. The DOJ is ordered to act out of retaliation, not justice. None of this serves the American people — it serves them.

Those in power today are working solely to enrich themselves while ordinary families struggle more than ever. Ask yourself: how much has your family benefited since Jan. 20? Trump and his family have pocketed billions.

Think about it. Stand with us. What’s important is that if we are honest with ourselves, none of us is happy about what’s happening. We are literally in the most dangerous space ever before in American history, losing our freedoms and the right to use free speech to express our dissent. We are dependent on one another to fix everything that has gone awry due to people with crazy ideas and irrational thinking. They get all the financial gain, and we get the hardship.

Let’s listen to each other and lift our voices on Oct. 18. Together, we can put an end to this madness.
