To the editor:
Barkeater Trails Alliance would like to extend a big thank you to the village of Lake Placid, the town of North Elba, the Lake Placid Central School District, The Devlin Inn, ROOST, our local bike shops, and ORDA for making the second BETA Community Bike Jam on Oct. 3 such a fun and successful event.
Held at the Olympic Skating Oval, the evening featured a live BMX stunt show by Montreal-based KRUSHER, a kids’ skills area, free bikes for kids to ride, music by Fogo Azul marching band and more — all in celebration of our community, regional mountain biking and the kickoff to the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series.
Events like this bring our community together, promote outdoor recreation and highlight the amazing trail systems that BETA helps maintain. We’re grateful for the support and hope to present more events like this in the future.
