Support Lefebvre for town clerk/tax collector

To the editor:

I am writing to give my enthusiastic support for Veronica Lefebvre for town clerk/tax collector for the town of Franklin. She was nominated by the Democratic caucus and will be on the ballot in November.

Veronica has been serving as deputy town clerk, an unsalaried position, since early this year and has applied herself to learning the job and becoming acquainted with the finer points of New York regulations. She has stepped up to the role by staffing the town clerk’s office, attending to the requests of residents and acting as secretary for town council meetings.

Our town cares for its residents. We need someone at the town hall who will be a consistent presence, as Veronica has proved herself to be over the past few months. A young mother looking toward the future, she understands the importance of making information more accessible in person and online.

In addition to Lefebvre, the Democratic caucus nominated Susan Alexander for town council, Dot Brown for supervisor, Jacques DeMars for highway superintendent, Anne Marie Nightingale-Duprey for town council, and Roger Symonds, Sr. for justice.

The last day to vote is Nov. 4. Applications for early mail-in ballots are available now, and in-person early voting begins on Oct. 25. Contact the Franklin County Board of Elections at tinyurl.com/y4bjvjpa for more information.

Please exercise your civic duty and vote.
