To the editor:

I am writing to support Johnny Williams for re-election to the Harrietstown Town Board.

Having served with many individuals on many boards since I was elected Saranac Lake village Trustee in 1963, the dedication to the job is Johnny’s priority, having witnessed his participation in the years we served together on that board. He arrives at the meetings acquainted with the agenda (some board members on various boards read the agenda when they arrive at the meeting), and he addresses his opinion on the issues with a calm, clear demeanor before he votes. He is a registered independent but has always been nominated for the seat by the Democratic caucus. I have no idea why he was not nominated by the Democrats, nor did I discuss the matter with Johnny.

Please give Johnny your support on Tuesday, Nov. 4. You know what? Please give your support also to Craig Donaldson (Donaldson also spelled “Lake Clear”). Craig served Harrietstown as highway superintendent for many years and was always re-elected until he chose not to run. He did a great job and would now be an asset to the Harrietstown board. You know what else? It wouldn’t hurt to have a couple of locals on that board.
