Endorse Williams
To the editor:
We would like to take this opportunity to endorse Johnny Williams in the upcoming election for Harrietstown councilperson. Johnny is a native of Saranac Lake who has chosen to return to his hometown to raise his family. In the process, he has served as an invaluable asset to the community by establishing a number of local businesses that provide goods, services and employment to our residents. He has also been a local youth advocate, as evidenced by his long-standing membership in the North Country Work Force Development Board, which focuses on getting young people trained and employed in this region. And, Johnny’s commitment to his community is seen every fall when, with help from a great team, he works to organize the annual Turkey Trot event, which has raised over $500,000 over the last 10 years.
As someone who was born and raised here, Johnny knows the issues facing the people of our region. He is willing to put in the time and effort — including accessing an expansive network of local friends, family, and contacts — to preserve what is good in our community and improve what needs improving. Johnny is focused on responsible, sustainable progress.
Johnny has proven himself more than capable of taking on this challenge. He has admirably and effectively served on the Harrietstown Board from 2021 to the present. During this time, he has served on the airport committee, for which he is ready to see the $8.5 million revitalization project through to completion.
While Johnny is running only on the Republican ticket, it is important to note that he is a registered Independent who comes to his position with no party agenda. He simply wants to do whatever needs to be done to make our community a better place. As such, he is willing to work with anyone who will help him accomplish this. Johnny is motivated, dedicated, and not afraid to work hard and sacrifice to make Harrietstown a wonderful place for all. If you voted for Johnny in 2021, please vote for him again in 2025, regardless of the place he occupies on the ballot. He will be an asset to our region.
We are proud to support Johnny Williams and encourage you to vote for him this coming November.
