Johnny Williams: A true leader
To the editor:
I’m writing to voice my strong support for re-electing Johnny Williams to the Harrietstown Council. Johnny goes above and beyond to preserve what makes our community special while guiding thoughtful, sustainable growth — and my own experience with him is proof of that.
When I moved here after marrying a local whose family roots here go back to the 1700s, Johnny welcomed me wholeheartedly. He gave me a job that helped me meet people and feel connected, while accommodating my schedule as a new parent. He helped us host a birthday celebration for my mother-in-law, and he’s continued to support my extended family — employing my cousin and encouraging his effort to organize an all-ages music festival. Johnny treats my family like his own, and he shows that same warmth and generosity to everyone he meets.
Now, as the mother of two young boys, I see the impact of that spirit every day. At the Saranac Lake Farmers Market this summer, I watched neighbors greet my children by name and other kids run up asking them to play. At that moment, I realized my sons feel at home here because I do too — thanks in no small part to Johnny’s kindness and dedication to building community.
I hope you’ll join me this election day in voting to re-elect Johnny Williams to the Harrietstown Council. He is a leader who truly makes this place feel like home.
