To the Editor:

This past weekend, May 31 to June 1, we held the first annual High Peaks Cup in Lake Placid. We would like to thank the local groups who helped make our event a success. The Town of North Elba, especially Jeremy Freeman and Trent Durocher, whose hard work on the fields helped us survive the cold, wet weather and allowed games to go off without a hitch.

Many thanks go out to the Lake Placid School District, Karen Angelopoulos, Dave Mayberry and his support staff, Chad LaDue of North Country Community College, Jon Moodey of Blackrock FC at Northwood School and to the LPYSA. Thanks also goes out to the support of NYSEF and Nate Hammaker.

With your support, we were able to host 47 teams from New York, Vermont and Canada and stage a great event in our first year. We look forward to hosting again in 2026.
