Visit the Adirondack Voters for Change Community Hub

To the editor:

When Congressman Jamie Raskin visited the North Country recently, I was proud to attend that “democracy convening” as a representative of Adirondack Voters for Change (AVfC). We are a local grassroots, issues-based organization with over 100 members in this small but strong rural community, and we have been defending democracy for 20 years. Our tagline is: “Issues. Voices. Actions.”

AVfC would like our Adirondack community to know that we have opened an AVfC Community Hub at 38 Broadway in Saranac Lake. Our Community Hub is a visible and welcoming source of information and inspiration where we provide accurate, fact-based comparisons between the Democratic and Republican platforms. We also show how those platforms align with our issues, including the New York state Equal Rights Amendment and women’s reproductive health rights.

Our main goal through the November election is simple but important: To get out the vote. After the election we will continue our lobbying and outreach efforts around issues such as affordable housing, climate action, abortion care access and reproductive rights, medical aid in dying, local assistance and governmental transparency.

AVfC is proud to be part of this community and we stand behind Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and the many down-ballot candidates who reflect our values and support our issues. We are here to help our fellow Adirondackers take action through postcard writing, door knocking, phone banking, voter registration and lobbying at this critical time in our nation’s history. Conservatives, liberals, and patriots all — please join us!
