To the editor:

I attended the recent town hall forum to meet the candidates running for village trustee. I do not personally know any of the candidates and I was impressed with the way all four candidates presented themselves. However, in my mind, there was one candidate that stood out.

Sean Ryan is a very poised, articulate, respectful young man. His credentials are impressive; having grown up in Saranac Lake, served in the military and returned to Saranac Lake to raise his family and work as the dean of students at the middle school.

The candidates were asked some difficult questions at this forum and all of his responses were clear, thoughtful and respectfully presented. He clearly has a strong desire to serve this community and his conviction was quite apparent. I believe he truly has the best interests of the community at heart and that he would be an asset to the village board in many ways. I encourage residents to consider voting for Sean in the upcoming election.
