Screens kill the Dreams
The young hearts bleed out their
sparkling wonder world
and pack it with strangers
and flashing lights
and shopping.
New boots
and new skates
and bags of hair clips
Screens kill the Dreams
Faces lit up long after
bedtime.
The Glow of the End
of what we Used To know
The Glow of the End
of “The World.”
“Especially for girls,” she asked
with a tear in her eye.
Kids…
Hold tight to your dreams
Better to defer them
Than to let them die.
