Saddened by Saranac Lake vandalism
To the editor:
The Saranac Lake Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is deeply saddened by the vandalism of a gay pride flag that occurred recently. We extend our heartfelt concern to Kelly Metzgar and the local LGBTQI-plus community. It is important to express to the residents of Saranac Lake and surrounding areas our belief that all people are deserving of honor and respect, regardless of their gender identity. We extend a call to the whole community for the grace to see the best in each other. We believe that there are no exceptions to the call to love our neighbors as ourselves.
