Carr is my choice
To the editor:
I am writing to endorse Danielle Carr for Franklin County legislator.
I came to know Danie Carr as my counselor when I was struggling as a first-time mother with postpartum anxiety. She changed my life for the better then, and continued to do in more ways than one. Through her professional love and support, we soon became friends.
At that time, I was struggling to find housing in Saranac Lake that I could afford. I am a preschool teacher at a local nonprofit daycare and my husband is a house painter, so we had very few options available to us. Danie helped us to secure a home to rent and then went on to help my family purchase and move into our first home, where we now happily reside. She helped us connect with the seller of our current home and carried our furniture into our house.
As time went on, Danie served as a volunteer on the board of directors at Northern Lights School, where I taught her son and have taught for over 10 years. She helped our group to search tirelessly for a permanent home for our school. She spent countless volunteer hours making connections with our local community, looking at properties, and helping us achieve what felt impossible. Our daycare now has a permanent home in Saranac Lake with full enrollment, my family now has a permanent home, and I have a lifelong friend.
Danie Carr did all of this because that is who she is. She is a motivated, caring, inspiring and strong woman, mother and leader with a heart deeply invested in the people around her. In just the time I have known Danie I have seen her live up to her promises as a candidate. Before even dreaming of running for election Danie has shown up to actively create change for new families struggling to find housing and live in our county, for daycares struggling to stay open, and for women and families, like mine, with very little choices for mental health care. She has changed my life and countless others and will continue to do so as our legislator.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Ciraulo
