McGahay has my vote
To the editor:
Dear Citizens of the North Country:
As an attorney who has lived and practiced law for over 50 years in the Adirondacks, I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with dozens of exceptional attorneys and judges. We have litigated and negotiated hundreds of cases in that span of time.
I started my legal career as a law assistant for then-Supreme Court Justice Harold R. Soden during the years 1966-1974. Since that time I have been before countless Supreme Court justices in the North Country, the Capital Region and in various federal courts. Some were good, some not so good. For our justices, we expect fairness, compassion and someone willing to impartially listen to both sides of the disputes of the facts and our understanding of the applicable relevant law regarding the disputes for our clients.
This year we have a rare opportunity in the Adirondacks to elect as a Supreme Court justice a seasoned attorney that will be ready to serve on day one and who exemplifies all that is necessary, appropriate and required for the duties of a Supreme Court justice.
Allison McGahay has all the right qualities, an excellent legal mind, outstanding background experiences as a practicing attorney to be a justice for all the citizens of the 4th Judicial District.
Although most citizens will never have a need to come before a Supreme Court justice for justice, you should know that if you ever did you can expect that Allison McGahay will treat your matter and your attorney’s advocacy of your rights with respect, compassion, thoughtfulness and in compliance with the law.
I will be voting for Allison McGahay for Supreme Court justice and urge all others to so as well. She will be a credit to our historical background of electing sound and well qualified attorneys to that judicial position.
Sincerely,
James M. Brooks, Esq.
