To the editor:

Rep. Elise Stefanik announced last week that Essential Air Service would be continuing for the Plattsburgh and Ogdensburg airports. I was disappointed because I don’t think this story got enough attention from the media. This funding is crucial because this will help to encourage travel to and from these airports. Increasing the amount of tourists who will be able to come and see all that the beautiful and majestic Adirondacks have to offer. This will help boost local economies at a time when it is direly needed. It also makes it easier and more affordable for families here in the North Country to travel. The airports will be receiving over $20 million in funding. Over the next 27 months Plattsburgh will receive $9,526,718 and Ogdensburg will receive $11,218,457 in funding. Once again Elise delivers results here in the North Country. I say once again because she’s constantly fighting for us and delivering real results like this to our district and the country. I’m so proud of the work she does. It’s great to be represented by a true patriot. She’s definitely one of the good ones.
