Stefanik is right to defend herself

To the editor:

The Post-Star continues its unfair and biased attacks on Congresswoman Stefanik in the midst of what might be the biggest controversy of this election. They publish a one-sentence article outright attacking Stefanik for not knowing the definition of the word “lie.” They call for her to sign an honesty pledge, which no other paper has ever done or called for, and attack her for not signing. You can see how well this honesty pledge is working out. Tedra Cobb took this pledge and yet hid her true ambitions of gun control from voters, and like clockwork, the Post-Star releases a tidal wave of editorials, columns and letters to the editor attacking the congresswoman. Stefanik rightfully went on Twitter herself to defend herself from this biased attack from the Post-Star, and rightfully criticized them for incorrect reporting.

Philip Wallace

Plattsburgh

(Correction: An earlier version of this letter said Katharine Heintz was the author and had Philip Wallace’s name on the letter Heintz wrote. It was determined that a third party accidentally swapped Wallace and Heintz’s names on their letters while submitting both of them through the Enterprise website.)
