Hoping name change is dropped
To the editor:
The Adirondacks! What a beautifully fantastic region to live in and/or to visit. I have been visiting these wonderful mountains and lakes for over 30 years, the first time being when one of our sons entered Paul Smith’s College. I now have three children and several grandchildren living in the area, with one grandson also having attended PSC.
I receive and enjoy reading the Adirondack Daily Enterprise to catch up and learn past history and recent news. Imagine my astonishment and dismay as I read the proposal (final?) to rename PSC as Joan Weill-Paul Smith’s College (not even the courtesy of placing Ms. Weill’s name AFTER Paul Smith’s). I fail to understand that if Ms. Weill is so well known, why does she even need to have her name attached to PSC to gain future donors and students?
Hopefully, with clearer thinking, absolute respect and a bit of a miracle, this proposal will fade into the distance and disappear.
