Weill isn’t a true philanthropist
To the editor:
Re: the terms of Joan Weill’s “gift” to Paul Smith’s College:
A true philanthropist would not have self-serving, ego-enhancing things attached to her gift. A gift, after all, is given freely. The donor may receive praise and appreciation, but rewards should not be expected and most certainly not a condition that the gift will be received.
