Rename Paul Smith’s College? No
To the editor:
I hope that the court has more sense than the Board of Regents did in its vote to rename Paul Smiths.
I’m sure that throughout the history of the college there are many others who have given generous donations to the college and not expected anything in return. Maybe they didn’t give millions because they weren’t really wealthy, but they gave what they could afford.
It’s my understanding that Mrs. Weill has her name on places on campus where she’s given generously, which is fine, but renaming the college? I think that is ridiculous.
