Remembering the life of Henry Parnass

To the editor:

I am writing to acknowledge the passing of Henry Parnass of Saranac Lake, so eloquently eulogized in his obituary in this paper last week. Henry skillfully advocated for North Country communities as a member of the Adirondack North Country Association’s Board of Directors and as ANCA president in the 1990s. His business acumen and commitment to the Adirondacks prompted ANCA founder Roger Tubby to recruit him to head our organization during a turbulent time in the Adirondack Park. Henry’s commitment to the economic welfare and quality of life in the North Country is evidenced not just by his work with ANCA, but by his dedicated service to the many other organizations he served.

ANCA recognizes his work on behalf of our communities and we offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
