Election letter deadline is today at 5 p.m.
We pride ourselves here at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise and Lake Placid News in allowing our readers a voice and a chance to be heard, especially during election season. We sincerely appreciate how engaged local voters are with not only our communities and local politics, but also this community newspaper, and we are happy to be your conduit for political discourse.
Unfortunately, however, we have just so much space to print your opinions.
Therefore, with the March 18 Saranac Lake village election fast approaching, we have set a hard deadline of Friday, March 13, at 5 p.m. for election-related letters. That’s five days before Election Day, but we need that time to verify submissions and find the room to print them.
Letters can be submitted to news@adirondackdailyenterprise.com. Questions or concerns can be directed to Publisher John Gereau at jgereau@adirondackdailyenterprise.com or by calling 518-891-2600, ext 2646.
Voting in the election will be held on March 18 in the Harrietstown Town Hall auditorium at 39 Main St. from noon to 9 p.m.
The Enterprise has covered the mayoral race between incumbent Mayor Jimmy Williams and village Trustee Kelly Brunette at tinyurl.com/unncu93u. It has also covered the trustee race for two open board seats at tinyurl.com/bamwu86f. Jeremy Evans, Katie Stiles and David Trudeau are running for trustee. Josh King is not on the ballot, but is running a write-in campaign.
