Are you tired of shoveling all this snow? How about a snow roller?! These heavy wooden rollers would be drawn by horse teams and would compact the snow to allow passage for sleighs and other transportation. This was, unsurprisingly, cold and hard work. Sometimes when the snow was too high, it had to be shoveled down enough to pack, and drivers sat high in the air unprotected from winter winds. Stay warm out there!
