Image of the Week

May 11 would have been the 102nd birthday of Dr. Kenneth Ho, who came to cure at Trudeau Sanatorium after he contracted tuberculosis in the mid-1940s. Ken’s treatment was successful, and he went on to become a medical doctor, running a family practice in Syracuse for decades. Ken was also a passionate photographer, and documented his time as a patient in great detail. He is pictured here in bed on his cure porch at Trudeau Sanatorium. He also documented the 1987 TB Reunion held by Historic Saranac Lake with rare video footage. His wife Connie recently passed away; Historic Saranac Lake is grateful to her and their two children, Evelyn and Danny, for sharing Ken’s story with the world and making his wonderful collection available to the public.
