Roberta D. Otranto

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Roberta D. Otranto.

Roberta D. Otranto passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 in Burlington, Vermont, at the age of 84 with her family by her side.

She was born April 16, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Jeanne (Genistar) Alberino.

Roberta was married to Lawrence J. Otranto Sr. for 56 years, who passed away in 2017. They married at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Brooklyn.

Roberta was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother to five grandchildren who adored her. She also had seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Peck (Peter), her son Christopher Otranto (Holly), her grandchildren Vitta Perry, Antonia Otranto, Kristin Perry, Lorenzo Otranto and Sierra Peck, and her sister Veronica Alberino.

Roberta led a fulfilling life, from an early career of stenography at the Cunard Building in Manhattan when she graduated high school at the age of 16. Roberta loved to cook and was the most creative chef, always preparing meals for her family and friends. She was passionate about and loved flowers, including perennial gardening but her most loved work was that of a mom as she was a stay at home mom to her three children while they were growing up.

She was predeceased by her son Lawrence J. Otranto Jr., who passed away in 2009. Roberta also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Agnes Church on May 16 at 11 a.m. followed by burial at St. Agnes Cemetery.
