Ann Elizabeth Henderson
Ann Elizabeth (Barton) Henderson, 80, of Saranac Lake, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at home after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Olean, New York, on July 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Walter Barton and Thelma Barton Klas.
Ann is survived by her husband of 51 years, Alan, daughter Natalie (Paul) Macquire of Rochester, son Joseph (Tracey) Henderson of Saranac Lake, grandchildren Elizabeth and William Henderson, brothers Timothy (Deanie) Barton of Leland, North Carolina, Walter (late Beverly) Barton of Zephyrhills, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son Gregory, sisters Emily Chandler and Karen Kwiatkowski, and brother Gary Barton.
Ann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved animals and more than once rescued the saddest-looking dog at the shelter. Plants and flowers thrived under her care, and her apple pies and muffins were legendary. She gave the best hugs.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will be private. Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in Saranac Lake, at trilakeshumanesociety.com.
