Terry S. Folmsbee

Theron (Terry) Stuart Folmsbee passed away at home suddenly, but peacefully, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on Feb. 15, 1943, to the late Theron (bake) Folmsbee and Edith (Keil) Folmsbee of Stuyvesant Falls.

He was a 1961 high school graduate of Ichabod Crane Central Schhool. Terry married Eloise Mckern on July, 11, 1964. They welcomed a daughter, Tracey (Folmsbee) Schrader, in 1965 and a son, Jason Thomas Folmsbeee, in 1975. After high school, Terry started as a draftsman for Giffird Wood Industries in Hudson, and eventually became a mechanical engineer working during the winter months in Pittsfield, Massachusettes.

As a young boy, he and his Uncle Bob Folmsbee went on camping trips to Long Lake, where he fell in love with the Adirondacks. In 1975, he moved his young family to Long Lake when he purchased the Long Lake Marina, where he was sole proprietor for 50 years. Terry enjoyed reading, hiking, biking, canoeing, planes, trains, cars and his beloved cats Smitty, Wessie, Roxy and Vicky. One of his greatest joys was his rustic but comfortable camp in Santanoni, where he spent endless hours hiking, reading or spending time with family and friends.

Terry was predeceased by his parents and grandson Tai McLear. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Eloise Ann Folmsbee; one daughter, Tracey Ann Schrader (Randy) of Saranac Lake; one son, Jason Thomas Folmsbee (Rachel) of Long Lake; one brother, Tom Folmsbee (Marge) of Ghent; grandchildren Dylan Blake Schrader (Savannah) of Saranac Lake and Kiara (Kiwi) Marie Cote (Hanna Smith) of Tupper Lake; nephew Todd Folmsbee Jr. (Katie) of West Virginia; niece Amy (Folmsbee) Schober (Eric) of Ghent; and oodles of cousins!
