Rosaleigh M. Blanchard

On Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, Rosaleigh Marie Blanchard gained her angel wings. She was born on July 20, 2023, at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York City to Anastasia Blanchard and Dakotta Callaghan.

Rosaleigh, for the five weeks she was alive, fought a big battle. Rosaleigh was born with a one ventricular heart and Kabuki Syndrome. With the amazing help of the Cardiac NICU, we were able to spend memorable time with her. Many days were trying but Rosaleigh kept fighting until she couldn’t fight anymore.

She is survived by her parents, maternal grandfather Harold Blanchard and Erin Mitchell of Lake Clear; maternal grandmother Hilary Landry of Brushton; paternal grandfather Jason and Kalina Callaghan of Bloomingdale; paternal grandmother Amanda Young; and uncle Jaxon Gravlin of Malone; aunt Stormy Ero and Alexander Gomes; cousins Quinn and Tripp Salls, Lilly and Allie Gomes of North Lawrence; aunt Alexandra Mitchell and cousin Nova Eldridge of Saranac Lake; aunt and uncle Leanne and James Williams and cousin Isabella Williams of Lebanon, Indiana; uncle Kaleb Mitchell and Samantha Cleator of Paul Smiths; aunt Gabreilla Mitchell of Paul Smiths; and aunt McKenna Callaghan and cousins Grayson, Harmony and Journey Collins of Saranac Lake.

She is also survived by her paternal great grandfather Archie Blanchard, as well as many great aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her great grandmother Wilma Jean Wenner, great uncle Archie Blanchard III, aunt Gay Marie Karnes, and cousin Harley Rascoe.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake Clear.

All memorial contributions made in Rosaleigh’s memory will go towards families in need at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital Cardiac NICU.
