Nicholas J. Canning
Nicholas J. Canning, 33, of Sanford, Florida, passed away on May 4, 2023 in Queensbury. He was born June 11, 1989 and was the son of Tom Canning and Roseanne Buck.
Nick was a resident of Saranac Lake for several years and worked at various restaurants as a cook. He was a free spirit and traveled extensively. He loved nature, loved the mountains and loved the desert. He loved cooking and camping and was well loved by many, many people. He had a big personality, was quick-witted and he could talk a mile a minute.
He is survived by his parents Tom Canning of Debary, Florida and Roseanne Buck of Saranac Lake. He is also survived by three siblings: Aaron Canning of Sanford, Florida; Kara Canning of Sanford, Florida; and Michael Canning of Greenwich. He’s also survived by his paternal Grandma Ingrid Canning of Saranac Lake and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews all around the United States.
He was cremated, but a celebration of life will be held in the near future in Florida.
He was killed by a drunk driver with pending charges against the driver. He will be missed but has left us with wonderful, wonderful memories. Please don’t drink and drive.
