John ‘Jack’ Zingle

John “Jack” Zingle passed away on Jan. 3, 2023 at the age of 90 near his home in Lake Placid.

He had been struggling with the flu and had been hospitalized, getting to know all the medical teams while there.

He enjoyed getting to know people and “schmoozing,” as he had been a salesman all his working life. He retired to Lake Placid, where he enjoyed the peace and quiet. Jack’s hobbies included hunting, yard work and caring for the dogs he had over the years. His special talent was building things of wood, mainly furniture, and he could often be found tinkering in his shop.

When not there, he was either riding around on the mower or taking donuts to people in town that he had come to know, while sneaking in an ice cream cone from McDonald’s.

He is survived by his spouse of 67 years, Catherine, and four adult children: Zoe (Bruce McCulley) of Vermontville, Neale of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Karen (Rusty Lowry) of Omaha, Nebraska and Suzanne (Michael Richardson) of Lakeville, Minnesota as well as grandchildren Megan (Perry Millner) of Eagan, Minnesota, Sarah (Joshua Dahlen) of Fargo, North Dakota and Micah McCulley and two great-grandchildren: Perry and Matthias Millner of Eagan, Minnesota.

Jack was a devoted father and good provider over the years. He will be missed.

There will be a private family memorial, as were his wishes. Donations in his name may be made to Tri-Lakes Humane Society, Saranac Lake. Please visit www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com to share a memory or leave condolences. Arrangements by M.B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid.
