William R. Decker
William R. Decker (“Will” or “Bill”), age 93, of Longwood, Florida, formerly of Saranac Lake, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022.
William was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 13, 1929, the son of Emil and Katherine (Seufer) Decker and spent his career as a self-employed business professional.
William is survived by his wife Bonnie (Spinner) Decker; his sons William G. (MaryEllen) Decker and Robert Decker, both of Saranac Lake, Emil “Guy” (Kristina) Decker of Lake Stevens, Washington, and James (Lisa) Decker of Nashville, Tennessee; his daughters Virginia Decker (John) Francis of Mapleton, Utah and Carrie (Lester) Entz of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. William is also survived by his brother John Decker of Saranac Lake, as well as 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
William was predeceased in death by his mother and father, his son Charles Thomas Decker, his daughter Katherine Decker Gleason and his sister Kathleen Decker Friend.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Saranac Lake. Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at noon at St. Bernard’s Church with the Reverend Martin Cline officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
