Carole A. Ransom

Carole A. Ransom, 88, of South Burlington, Vermont, passed away on Sept. 29, 2022, at the Villa Rehab Center. She was born on July 13, 1934, in Bloomingdale, the daughter of Halsey Farrington and Marion Sprague Farrington.

She was dedicated to the restaurant and food service industry for most of her working life, until she created a home daycare facility in more recent years. Carole was incredibly dedicated to her family and friends; she always loved going out to enjoy food and conversation with her loved ones. Her favorite things in the world were books and good food, which her daughter, Kimberly, made sure that she always had in abundance.

Carole is survived by her four children: Kimberly Ransom, Darren Ransom, Timothy Ransom and Lucinda Ransom; her niece, Veronica (Bonnie) Wilk; as well as her nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lucille Brady, Millicent Jones, Ruby LaFontaine, and Alice Farrington; her brothers, Warren Farrington, Malcom “Mickey” Farrington, Sprague Farrington, and Earl Farrington; as well as her nephew, Mark Brady, who was killed in the Vietnam War, and her niece, Linda Farrington. She had a particularly close relationship with her youngest granddaughter, Jenna Hansen, 21.

Their relationship was very special to them both; Jenna grew up by her side and will miss her deeply. A small, family-only graveside service will be held at the family lot in Bloomingdale.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Unity, a spiritual community which meant a lot to Carole as a devout Episcopalian. You may donate online via this link: https://tinyurl.com/donateCRunity. If you prefer to mail a donation, 1901 NW Blue Parkway, Unity Village, MO 64064-0001.
