Terry R. Waldron

Terry R. Waldron, 84, of Maple Avenue, former longtime native of Mechanicville, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.

Born March 23, 1938, on Ensign Avenue in Mechanicville, he was the sixth child of Hawley and Caroline Sipperly Waldron and a 1955 graduate of Mechanicville High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-58, stationed in Germany. Following his service, Terry worked at Mohawk Paper, enabling him to graduate from Troy Beauty School of Cosmetology. He was the sole proprietor of Mr. Terry’s Beauty Salon for over 45 years.

Terry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Always a strong supporter of his children’s interests. His generosity extended to his siblings, in-laws and their families and to countless neighbors, clients and friends. Terry opened his home to everyone with his smile and a warm embrace. Many special friends became part of our family.

He was a marvelous cook and no one ever left a Waldron gathering hungry.

Terry’s signature in life was his warm loving service to others. From a very young age he realized it is truly in giving that we receive. His special wit and humor, delivered through voice and facial expression, is unforgettable!

He was a communicant of the Church of St. Peter, where he was a member of the choir, expressing his passion for the gift of song.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Katherine; his children, Jeffery (Gerard), John (Mary), Suzanne (Brian), James (Kristen), Joseph (Sarah); grandchildren, Sebastian, Tanner, Nicholas, Carrie, Shauna, Mark, great-granddaughter Mila, siblings, Elzora (Albert) Conway and Earl (Heidi), sister-in-laws Carol and Jeanne, many nieces and nephews, goddaughter Rachel, his other “son” Patrick (Kristin) and his other “grandchildren” Christopher, Nicholas and Patrick.
