Robert Russell

He was the son of Harold and Emma Pearl (Egglestone) Russell, born in Malone on Oct. 2, 1931.

He is survived by his wife Joanne; sons John (Sandy) Russell from New Jersey, Tim (Barb) Russell from Ohio, Kathy (Keith) Lanthier from Albany, New York, Angie (Shawn) Butler from Rome, New York, and Spencer (Audrey) Russell from Indiana; brother Earl (Chum) Russell and sister Janis Werner, both from Farmington, New York; as well as several stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Budd was predeceased by his daughter Dori Rachel Russell, wives Evelyn Lewis and Joan LaLonde, brothers Gerald (Jerry), James (Jim) and Patrick (Pat), sister Barbra and grandson Jake Lanthier.

He grew up in Conifer and was likely to be found hunting, fishing, camping or walking in the woods surrounding the town during his adult life. He was an avid card player — a formidable bridge player — and he entertained everyone with mastery of card tricks and dad jokes. His other passion was dancing, winning contests with his spouses and dancing with his great granddaughters.

He was an active Moose club member, volunteering his time to barbecue for the members and families, rising to the status of a Pilgrim member.

Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 at Frary Funeral Home, followed by mass at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
