Rebecca Lynn LoPinto Moran

Rebecca Lynn LoPinto Moran of Bloomingdale passed away along with the life growing within her on April 7, 2021, after a brief illness.

Born on Oct. 6, 1979, in Smithtown, she resided in Herkimer for much of her childhood and early adulthood before settling in the Saranac Lake area. Rebecca is survived by her three school-aged boys: Adrian, Elijah and Murphy Moran; their father Vince Moran; and Brendan Hoyer, the love of her life.

She is mourned by her parents Bernard and Jeanne LoPinto; sister Carol Ann LoPinto Blank, brother-in-law Andrew Blank and their children; and brother Andrew John LoPinto, sister-in-law Priya Ramachandran LoPinto and their child.

Rebecca graduated from Herkimer High School and North Country Community College, where she earned a degree in Wilderness Recreation Management. She stated this degree gave her the foundation to do “all the things.” As a single mother of three boys, she simultaneously worked full-time while completing her bachelor’s degree at SUNY Plattsburgh. She was an expert at creating a beautiful, stable existence for her children in the face of great odds that would have felled a lesser person.

Known as Becka by her friends, she is mourned and missed by many people from the Mohawk Valley and Saranac Lake and beyond. She enjoyed her work as HeadStart/Early HeadStart education coordinator at the Adirondack Community Action Program, where she worked for eight years alongside staff whom she loved. She touched the lives of countless families through her various roles in the community, including as a baseball coach and on the Community Connections Advisory Committee of the Saranac Lake Central School District.

Becka created a community of loving, protective friends. She rallied the troops and raised her boys with grace and an endless amount of loving kindness. Becka lived by the belief that “we all do better when we all do better,” and she evidenced this in large and small ways throughout every sphere of her life. The strength of the wolf is the pack.
