Alvin E. Fuller

Alvin E. Fuller, 73, of Paul Smiths, died Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, peacefully in his sleep.

Born in Shelton, Connecticut, on Aug. 1, 1946, he was the son of Alvin W. and Clair (Taylor) Fuller. Alvin married Cathy Andrews on Saturday, June 4, 1988, at the little church in Keese Mills.

Alvin attended and graduated from Shelton High School in 1964. He later attended and graduated from Paul Smith’s College from 1964-1967. Alvin is a veteran of the United Stated Navy, completing three tours of duty in Vietnam, serving from 1967 to 1970. He was employed as a welder for the County of Franklin for over 10 years. An active lifetime member and executive officer of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club, and member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He cared deeply for his country and the communities in which he participated.

He is survived by his wife Cathy; two daughters: Catherine Fuller of Anaheim, California, and Abigail Fuller of Salt Lake City, Utah; and one brother, Charles Fuller of Shelton, Connecticut.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Thursday, March 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels in May.
