Daniel Dougherty

On Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, Daniel Dougherty, a hard working family man, passed away at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Dan, born on March 25, 1947, to Viconda and William Dougherty, was one of three children.

He was a Lake Placid Native, where he served his community in several ways. He was a volunteer firefighter in his early adult years, worked for the village highway department, and then worked under Hollrock Concrete Inc, until retiring.

Dan also served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968.

While dedicating most of his life to work, he still found time to relax, and visit with friends at Bowl winkles. While he had an immense love for his family, he also dedicated his last few years to caring for Buddy, a rescue cat.

He is survived by his two daughters: Karin Graham and Jodie Ayers, their spouses Robert Graham and Brock Woodruff; his son, Daniel Dougherty; his sister, Deloris Dougherty; his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great-granddaughter.

Dan was predeceased by his partner Connie Hinkley, and his sister Doris Hare.

There are no calling hours. A gathering in Dan’s honor will be held at a later date.

The M.B. Clark Inc. funeral home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
