Janet R. Simpson
Janet Rose Simpson, 77, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking delicious dinners for her family, spending winters in Las Vegas, and dealing in antiques and collectibles. Many of her best days were spent walking the fields of Brimfield Antique Shows. Most of all she enjoyed being around her family, whom she always greeted at the door with a hug and a smile. She had an exceptional sense of humor, and her laughter and charm will be missed by anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her.
Janet was born in the Adirondack Mountains in Saranac Lake on Nov. 7, 1939, and lived in Agawam, Massachusetts, for 47 years.
She leaves her devoted husband of 60 years and the true love of her life, James W. Simpson, her son James W. Simpson Jr. and daughter Donna Lynn Balise, and three grandchildren whom she adored: Jeb Balise lll, Alexandra McEwen and Melanie Simpson. She also leaves two brothers, William Bova and Donald Tallman, and three sisters: Christine Mulverhill, Beverly Olmstead and Deborah Tallman.
She was predeceased by her mother Grace Bova, brother Richard Tallman, sister Linda Bumberger, and brother and best friend Daniel Tallman.
All services will be privately held. Curran-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
