Barbara H. LaBrake

Born in Saranac Lake on June 01, 1928, she was the daughter of Edna R. Bryant.

Barbara married Lawrence LaBrake on Nov. 19, 1944 in Bloomingdale. He predeceased her in April of 1997.

Barbara was a member of the Over 55 Club and volunteered for the Board of Elections for many years. She loved politics, knitting, crafts and playing cards. She had been employed at the school house in Vermontville in the cafeteria and at the decorator shop in Saranac Lake.

She is survived by her son William LaBrake of West Palm Beach, Florida; her daughter Mary LaBrake of Vermontville; her daughter Betty Callaghan of Chatsworth, California; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Carol LaBrake.

Calling hours will take place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 3 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon Tuesday, Jan. 3 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Vermontville in the spring.
