Harry R. Holmes
Harry R. Holmes, 92, of Hamilton, New Jersey, passed away with his loving family by his side Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Care One in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Mr. Holmes was born in Camden, New Jersey, the son of William and Mable Holmes. He was the husband of Marguerite (Frenya) Holmes formerly of Lake Placid. Mrs. Holmes died April 18, 2010.
Mr. Holmes retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment as a machine operator. He served proudly and honorably and was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army and fighting at the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his son John R. and his wife Francisca Holmes; five grandchildren, Allison, Jason, John Jr., Roberto and Elizabeth Holmes.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mable Holmes, his wife Marguerite, his daughter Maureen H. Lent and five siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9 at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid with the Rev. John Yonkovig officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid.
