Barbara A. Wood

Mrs. Wood was born Dec. 5, 1957 in Brockport. She was the daughter of Lynn and Marilyn (Judd) Schleede.

Barbara was a loving mother and she enjoyed spending time with her family. After becoming a cancer survivor in 1999 Barbara became a dedicated volunteer for Relay for Life and was a very active fundraiser. She was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed growing plants and flowers.

She is survived by her husband David Wood of Lake Placid; her mother, Marilyn (Judd) Schleede of Brockport; one son, Jason Mach and Chelsea Mitchell of Boston, Massachusetts; three daughters: Erica Mach and her fiancee Charles Rote of Gloversville, Kristy White and her husband Kyle of Troy and Megan White of Canajoharie; two brothers: Terry Schleede and his wife Alison of North Carolina and Brian Schleede and his wife Juliet of Conesus; her twin sister, Brenda Wikander and her husband Michael of Chandler, Arizona; two grandchildren: Arianna Christiano and Kaya Rote; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Lynn Schleede and one sister, Linda Hoffman.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid. The Rev. John Martin will officiate. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave, Lake Placid. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
