John J. Slater

He was born Jan. 19, 1948 in Niskayuna, the son of Carson J. Slater and Sybil (Cook) Slater.

He served in the Air Force after graduation from Lake Placid High School.

He is survived by two sons: Jason Ferguson of Sacramento, California and Corey Slater of New Bern, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Skylar and Connor Ferguson of California and Kaylee Cahoon and Noah Slater of North Carolina; and a brother, Rod Slater of Santa Rosa, California.

Burial will be at the Bonnie View Cemetery in Wilmington at a later date.

Funeral arrengements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.
