Kenneth G. LaVair

Kenneth G LaVair, 75, of 41 Main St., Apartment 2, Tupper Lake, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 19, 2014.

Kenneth was born on June 14, 1938, in St. Regis Falls. He was the son of Alfred LaVair and Ida St. Germaine LaVair.

He attended school at St. Regis Falls and Saranac Lake and was in the Vietnam War.

On Feb. 18, 1969, he married Doris Benware.

Kenneth worked as a collision expert/painter for Steve Day, Hesseltine’s Upstate Auto, Mark Counter, and Duso’s.

He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling, hunting and auto racing.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina LaVair Tarbox of Greencastle, Pa.; his son James G. LaVair of Tupper Lake; and a brother, Melvin LaVair of Nashua, N.H.; five grandchildren: Amanda Tarbox Delauter and Craig Hutchinson of Greencastle, Pa., Trever Tarbox and Travis Hutchinson of Zullinger, Pa. and Kenneth LaVair III of Tupper Lake; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Benware LaVair, son Kenneth LaVair Jr., six brothers and two sisters.

There will be no calling hours at the request of the deceased. There will be a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday April 24, at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake.
