Leora Evelyn Manley

Word has been received of the death of Leora Evelyn Manley, 82, formerly of Saranac Lake and most recently of West Palm Beach, Fla., who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Hospice of Palm Beach County.

Leora had been employed as a loan officer at Marine Midland Bank/HSBC in Saranac Lake for many years until her retirement.

Leora was born on Jan. 6, 1931, and was the first daughter of eight girls born to Charles and Evelyn Curry. Growing up in Saranac Lake, the eight sisters were known around town as the Curry girls. Leora attended Saranac Lake High School and graduated in the Class of 1950. She married Donald Manley, also from the SLHS Class of 1950, on June 19, 1954.

Donald predeceased her, going home to be with the Lord on Feb. 11, 2008. They had one daughter.

Her surviving family includes her daughter, Nancy Lee Manley Finn, granddaughter Laurel Beth Finn, and great-grandaughter Jasmine Leora Finn.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family in West Palm Beach. Burial will take place in Pine Ridge Cemetery (Plot R Lot #23) in Saranac Lake.
