USA Luge’s Ashley Farquharson secured a women’s single Olympic luge bronze medal on Tuesday during the 2026 Olympic Winter Games at the Cortina d’Ampezzo Sliding Center in Italy.
Farquharson, a native of Park City, Utah, who lives and train in Lake Placid posted a four-run time of 3 minutes, 31.582 seconds to becomes the second American women’s singles slider to earn an Olympic medal. Erin Hamlin, who won bronze at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, was the first American to medal.
Germany’s Julia Taubitz won gold with a combined time of 3:30.625, while Latvia’s Elina Bota (3:31.543) won the silver medal.
Also for USA Luge, Emily Fischnaller (formerly Sweeney) a Lake Placid resident, was 12th with a combined time of 3:33.035. Summer Britcher of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, and Lake Placid, was 14th in 3:33.553.
