Lake Placid Film Festival sets 2026 dates

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the festival will take place Nov. 5-8

LAKE PLACID — After record-breaking attendance during its 2025 edition, Adirondack Film has announced the dates for the 2026 Lake Placid Film Festival. Named one of the best Film Festival Vacation Destinations by MovieMaker Magazine, the Lake Placid Film Festival will run Thursday, Nov. 5, through Sunday, Nov. 8.

“Last year’s Lake Placid Film Festival continued our three-year streak of growing attendance and making the Adirondacks a destination for film professionals and movie lovers alike,” Adirondack Film Board Chair Gary Smith said. “With our 25th anniversary this year, we can’t wait to announce some of our expanded offerings in the months ahead.”

“The programs we’ve introduced over the last several years will continue to bear fruit in 2026, as we further grow into one of the preeminent film festivals in the region,” Director of Communication, Noah Ramer, said. “For example, our Student programs not only provide an opportunity to connect emerging artists looking to make a career in New York State, but also allow us to highlight the many benefits of shooting in the region. It’s already brought tangible economic impact in terms of film and television projects picking the Adirondacks to film.”

In the meantime, Adirondack Film offers year-round programming with its “See Something That Means Something” film series at Arts Center Lake Placid. Films are shown at 7 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. The series continues this Friday, Feb. 6, with “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley,” one of the most successful music documentaries of the 2020s. Tickets are available online at adirondackfilm.org.
