Grand marshal reception, royalty dinner is Feb. 10

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee invites the public to the Grand Marshal Reception and Royalty Dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at the Hotel Saranac.The Carnival Committee has chosen Josh Dann as its 2026 Grand Marshall for the Gala Parade on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Dann is a Saranac Lake native and a Saranac Lake High School graduate. He has been working in the Saranac Lake Central School District for the past 20 years. He has worked as the middle school dean of students, Petrova Elementary principal and is currently the Saranac Lake High School principal. Outside of school, Dann has helped raise more than $300,000 through the annual Turkey Trot to support the Saranac Lake Student Needs Fund and the Interfaith Food Pantry.
The Grand Marshal Reception will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. and is a free event to welcome the 2026 Winter Carnival Grand Marshal and Royalty. Snacks will be served and a cash bar will be available.
The Royalty Dinner will follow the reception from 6 to 9 p.m. and is by reservation only; contact Milt Adams at 518-891-4367. Reservations are required before Jan. 26. Payment should be made by check, payable to the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee and must be received prior to the dinner, mailed to Milt Adams, 680 County Route 18, Lake Clear, NY 12945.
The dinner will be buffet style including garden salad, grilled chicken breast, pasta primavera, shepherd’s pie, honey grilled carrots, baked mac and cheese, assorted rolls and a dessert bar. Dinner includes coffee/tea, assorted sodas and bottled water for $40 (ages 17 and older), for children ages 6-16 the cost is $15, and for children ages 5 and under there is no cost.
All proceeds from the Royalty Dinner benefit the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival.
