ArtWorks presents ‘Carnival Chronicles: Winter Carnival Through the Ages’

SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake ArtWorks recently announced the opening of “Carnival Chronicles: Winter Carnival Through the Ages,” a special exhibition celebrating the creativity of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. Featuring nearly a dozen ArtWorks members, the exhibit will be held at Coldwell Banker Whitbeck Gallery & Creative Space. An opening reception will be held Friday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

This unique exhibit brings together paintings, photography, mixed media, literature and glass inspired by more than a century of Winter Carnival traditions. From parades and Ice Palace designs to costumes and celebrations, Carnival Chronicles offers visitors a vibrant journey through the carnival’s evolution.

“Winter Carnival is one of the most cherished traditions in Saranac Lake, and this exhibition honors the generations of community members who have shaped it,” Saranac Lake ArtWorks Executive Director Lorraine Merrihew said in a press release.

The exhibit is on display in the gallery from Jan. 26 to March 22.
