Country Christmas Tour returns to Indian Lake Thanksgiving weekend

INDIAN LAKE — This year’s Country Christmas Tour is right around the corner, and the Town of Indian Lake is bringing back last year’s favorite activities. The gingerbread house contest submissions will kick off the weekend at the Town of Indian Lake Welcome Center on Friday, Nov. 28. Gingerbread creations can be entered into one of the three categories by noon for judging to take place during the weekend. Creations will be voted on all weekend by community members, and the winners will be announced Saturday, Nov. 29 afternoon at 3:05 p.m.

The Welcome Center will be open Friday for craft time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., where participants can make their own Scrabble letter holiday ornament. All supplies will be provided. The town tree lighting and caroling will follow on Friday evening at 4 p.m., located in the center of town at the Pocket Park. L&J Catering & Moore will hand out cookies and cocoa.

Saturday, the crafting continues at the Welcome Center during the same timeslot. Along with announcing the winner of the gingerbread house competition, organizers will announce the winner of the $20.25 Shop Local Challenge. To enter this challenge, submit a receipt from any local business with a total of at least $20.25 prior to 3 p.m on Nov. 29.

Indian Lake Community Action will be accepting hat and mitten donations all month long as a part of its charity hat and mitten drive. This year, non-perishable food items will also be accepted. For a complete schedule for the Country Christmas Tour, visit indian-lake.com or call 518-648-5112.
