David Webb presents a replica of the sweater iconic pitcher Christy “Matty” Mathewson would have worn on his 1913 tour around the country. Special items related to Matty’s life, which included living and dying of tuberculosis in Saranac Lake in the years following World War I, were on display during a special event hosted on Tuesday by Historic Saranac Lake to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Matty’s death.
