Keene man charged with burglary, two other felonies

KEENE — State Police arrested Paul J. Larose, 36, at 7:46 p.m. Sunday after responding to a menacing complaint on state Route 9N in the town of Keene.

Larose was charged with one count each of first-degree burglary, criminal possession of a firearm and a third-degree criminal possession of a firearm resulting from a previous conviction, all felonies. He was also charged with two counts of second-degree menacing, class A misdemeanors.

State Police Public Information Officer Brandi Ashley said the investigation found that the defendant entered a residence without permission. He brandished a shotgun and pointed it at one of the victims who were present in the house at the time. One victim managed to disarm Larose, taking the shotgun away.

Following, the incident, Larose was arrested and transported to State Police barracks in Ray Brook for processing, Ashley said. He was held at the Essex County Jail on a “pre-arraignment hold.”

The next day, Monday, Larose was arraigned in the town of Keene Court, then remanded to Essex County Jail. His bail was set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond and $20,000 partially secured bond.
