TUPPER LAKE — The Tupper Lake community is being invited to visit the school and meet the new superintendent of schools, Jaycee Welsh, on Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Tupper Lake Public Library.

The library is located at 41 Lake St. No reservations are required, according to the school district’s website. Light refreshments will be served. Welsh wants to get to know as many people in the community as she can, and this event provides an opportunity for people to get to know her and ask her questions in an informal and relaxed setting before the school year officially gets underway for students on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Welsh came to Tupper Lake from the La Fargeville Central School District, in Jefferson County, where she served as executive principal and director of special education. She replaced Russ Bartlett, who retired earlier this summer after being with the district since 1994.
